How are you daily driver guys doing?

My wife and I bought a 2SS vert this month. It will be her daily driver here in Jersey until we retire. 2 years maybe...
Her commute these days is 6 miles each way on well maintained roads. It will kill me to see it covered with salt but its sure to happen.
To make things worse.. No garage space. I tried to buy a California Cover for it but they were 8 weeks out so I bought a cheapy Sealskin for now.
Bought winter tires on wheels yesterday.

So would like to hear how the daily drivers are doing....

I daily my 2018, and with a set of snow tires it's more than sufficient. As with most modern cars with proper care, it will still look great after many years and winters

I DD mine. Be very careful with the snow weight on the roof.

Other than that, it is a car - drive it! I am actually glad she is, that is what you buy a car for

I've been DDing mine since I bought it in spring of 2018. It's great...when I first drove it i was shocked at just how refined it felt compared to the 4th gens (go figure). Fits my fishing poles too so its more than good enough for me!

We rented them when visiting Fla. several times. We were surprised at how calm and usable they are as transportation.
Until you floor it and unleash the beast.
The first time we rented one we were in Naples and decided to spend a couple of days in the Keys. So we got a room at Southernmost House and headed down. I had not really let it rip until I needed to pass a tractor trailer on a long stretch of 2 lane. On 41. I pulled out and mashed it. I grew up on muscle cars in the early 70's. I never expected that kind of acceleration. In fact the first time I actually backed out of it anticipating wheel spin. Of course there was none. But I never drove a muscle car with traction control nannies. I didnt want to get sideways on the crown while next to a truck with small shoulders and weed to my left.
It was a memorable ride through the keys and back and is the reason we bought the car now.
Would love to have more garage space. But what can you do?

I drove my 2018 2SS daily for just short of three years, had a set of Blizzaks for the winter and never had a problem or missed a day of work. Just traded it for a new 2021 2SS have put on the snows and have been driving it to work daily as well. I made it to work during a recent snow storm without issue ( 50 mile drive each way). Drive it and enjoy

The Camaro is my DD up until the winter. Small hiccups here and there but overall she’s been one hell of a trooper

My ZL1 shares driving days with my 2005 Silverado 1500 Truck. Depending on the weather I might drive the ZL1 2 to 3 times a week and the truck the other days. I bought my ZL1 to drive and enjoy, not to sit under the carport for someone else to get if and when I pass away! I have a long time friend down in Florida that used to keep his Corvettes in the garage and never drive them except for an ocassional drive and finally asked him why he didn’t want to drive them more and his answer was he didn’t want to get the car dirty and have to clean it again. He is very meticulous and has a 2019 RT Scatpack widebody Challenger that he special ordered and it practically sits in the garage on a battery tender ocassionally taken out. It makes no sense to me but I respect his position on his car. I buy my cars to drive and enjoy for me since I’m paying the car note and insurance on them.

Nightfall gray metallic 2016 RS. My daily-driver in California since October 2017. The commute is about 150 miles a week (pre-COVID). The car is not garaged but I always use a reflective shade in the front window when I park it. The main issue I've noted is that the black soft-plastic inserts at the rear corners of the hood have grayed out a bit, and the sun seems tough on the black rubber at the bottom of the side windows. Other than that, the car is doing great after my 38K miles (I bought it as a CPO with 6K miles on it). The satin black hood wrap I put on in December 2018 is also holding up great.

Perfect so far, 2019 2SS. Will be 2 years old in April.

Almost exact same scenario as you...except garage kept and Florida weather.

I sort of Daily my 2018 ZL1. Why "sort of"?

Well, it is not my only vehicle, so I choose not to drive it in the rain. So, on rainy days, it sits in the garage.

I am 3 months shy of 3 years with this car and have right at 19k miles. My commute is 17miles each way, or 34 round trip.

Obviously, I don't have snow issues here in North Carolina like you do in Jersey. But I love driving this to work.

Since Covid, I only work in the building 2x a week now and 3x a week remotely.

As others have said, drive it. It'll be fine.
