camaro jack

Ok, I too suffer from not getting a jack or spare in my new Camaro SS. It came with those super awesome run-flats that will save me from any sort of tire catastrophe.
So....I found this thread and it gave me some great ideas. I already had a plug kit from my old car, along with a 12 volt extension cord and some battery clamps to hook directly to the battery. I liked the pics that someone else posted of their tire kit with the scissor jack.
I started looking around for a suitable scissor jack and I found one at my local wrecking yard. It came out of a Chevy HHR. I don't remember the year, but from what I've found, this same jack came in Cobalts, G5, and a few others.
The best part is that it only cost me about $7.50 including tax. So you might want to scour your local wrecking yard and get yourself a deal. I installed it the same way that the other person did and had to trim some of the foam away for the jack to fit. I'll post pics of that shortly.
Here are some pics of the jack that I got. I tested it on the car and it worked great. Oh, and the nut on the jack screw is a 19mm.

My old 2004 Mazda 3 had a notched jack. The jack has a notch on it to fit on a pinch weld.

I have a set of 20" run flats and some 18" OEM that are not run flats. I carry a bottle of Slime-safe for sensors, a 12V air compressor, a tire plug kit, and a valve stem tool.

I have used it to get home after hitting a piece of metal that caused a 1/4" gash at the edge of the tread/sidewall.

You save more weight than this adds by going to non-run flat tires (20lbs total going to PS4's)... And that's rotating mass saving!

Great point! So at worst the kit is a LB wash. I was just hoping to score the Camaro kit (anyone have one to sell?)

But piecing a kit together might turn out better.

Those clamp on jack pads highly recommended.

All right, enough with the facts already. We have no tolerance for that here!

I do like the pinch weld friendly jack.

Thinking about switching to non-runflats. What's better, Slime or roadside patching? Does the tire need to be removed to patch it?

Tire shops hate the gooey stuff you spray in through the valve. It makes a mess, and is only a temporary fix.

Roadside "patching" usually means plugging the tire. I use this all the time as my means of permanent repair. I always remove the tire to plug it.

Thanks. I guess I'll be watching some YouTube videos . . .
