Front end camera

Has anyone found a good front end camera for parking or saving the grill? I like NAVTV but they have not cracked the software for the nav screens on 2020 and newer models as or January 2021.

I'd ask Gen5DIY about supporting 2019+ cars with their integrated front camera solution, it's a very clean and OEM-like approach for the 2016-18 Camaro.

I've been looking into this also and so far the best solution is the Gen5DIY package. However its a bit pricey at $750 before tax and shipping AND you have to send them your MYLink head unit for software. Not to mention if you're not good at electronics like me, I'd have to pay to get it install. So for me, when you consider that the ZLE front splitter costs about $140 and i dont have to get it painted and i can install it mysef, I'll just take my chances and be extra careful. Hopefully there will be a less expensive alternative in the future.

Coming out of a C7 Z06, the lack of a front camera might be my single biggest gripe...that and the cup holder in line with the manual gear shift...and the tiny trunk...and no place to put your phone...and no Homelink button...and bugs getting stuck in my teeth due to the sh*t eating grin on my face while driving. #1stWorldProblems

Lebowski, the trunk is yuuge, you just need to squeeze that thang you're trying to stick in there

The wireless charging pad works fine for me after a little x-acto trimming of center rubber spacers. Homelink delete is a post-refresh 1st world problem, oh well. As to that grin, it's not at all unfamiliar

Ooooh. Do share! What size you running? My wife’s iPhone 8 “regular” fits fine and charges. My iPhone 12 MAX? Not so much.

Here is the idea, see below. I only needed it accommodate a bit longer phone (5 7/8") than GM intended, width was not an issue. The tray itself accommodates more than 6 inches in length, and you can check the width you need.

Don't be put off by the whitish look on the surface of the cut, it's just a trick of the light.

Love your signature, by the way

You have a real nice backup camera. Why not take advantage of it and back into parking spots instead of pulling foward. That’s what I do and it doesn’t cost a dime.

I actually thought about that, in most cases it could work. However I have a lift and because of the location in my garage I have to pull in. Front cameras allowed me to do it alone, now I need a spotter. Not the end of the world.

This maybe of some help, a member on the forum, A-A-RON, has made a custom front camera setup using the rear view camera mirror as the screen. If that interests you maybe take a look at that thread.
