Engine bay cleaning
Any suggestions on cleaning engine bay? I live in the desert area and have dust issues. I don't have oil leaks. Is lightly spraying the area with low pressure water out of the question? Thanks in advance.

You won't hurt anything, cool to cold engine. Don't use Gunk or other aggressive degreasers, I use S100, it cleans the scooters and the car engine and won't fade anything while doing it, spray with low pressure hose.

I use Adams waterless wash and wipe it down with a microfiber towel. It works really well and is fast/easy.
Edit: It works really well for door jambs as well. |

Scott from DPC gives numerous tutorials on car detailing. I will cover up any electronics and battery with a few small microfiber towels, use a soft detail brush, diluted APC, and set the hose nozzle setting to mist....https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JgcaJJYAJEY&feature=youtu.be

Water won't hurt it. I usually use my soap sponge after I wash the car. Rinse it the dry it with a shammy. Engine must be cooled down. Then some Adam's vinyl trim cleaner conditioner on the plastic and hoses. I even go over board and wax under the hood. Got to keep it tight!!
