Replacement Brake Rotors

Front rotors are starting to crack and warp and I'm looking to upgrade from stock, but I can't find much of anything. Looking to stay with steel rotors, not CCB.

All I've found so far is this offering from RacingBrake: https://www.racingbrake.com/RB-2pc-R...-ZR-p/2543.htm

Is that all that's out there? Anyone else find anything?

If your hubs are still straight and the warping/cracking is limited to just the rotor rings, this is another option: https://www.knsbrakes.com/c/car-seri...M+GM+Rotor+Hat

There is a good write up in the general forum where a guy with a 1SS 1LE and the 6 piston brakes upgrades to these rotor rings.

Apparently the ZL1 and Z06 with steel brakes use the same rotor ring, but a different hub.

How much track time are u getting from the front rotors? I’m gonna switch over to the zl1 front rotors on my z/28 over the winter.

Check out R1 Concepts. I have used them before specifically on street cars and they held up just as expected.

I do not believe this is true. Zl1 use a 390mm rotor, the c7z iron rotor is a 371mm which is the same as the ss/1le

The J6M SS 1LE front rotor is same OD and thickness as the J56 steel front on GS & Z06 but the J56 is slotted (with different hat vs. J6M).

They don't have any offerings for front rotors on the ZL1.

Seems like brake companies aren't very interested in making parts for the ZL1.

I recommend using KNS Brakes. Just go on their website, input the year/make/model and you'll see a variety of options. I used and like the DBA options on other vehicles. Pair with Carbotech pads and you'll stop like hitting a brick wall. If you want to call them, they'll be able to set you up with exactly what you need.

It does appear at this time there is no front rotor option for the ZL1. Which kind of sucks for track rats. I'm sure somebody with more know-how than me will figure this out.

do they come with new hardware? or do you just re-use the same mounting hardware?

At this time I do not believe there are any aftermarket options for the ZL1 front rotors. You are stuck with buying new OEM rings (which isnt a bad thing).

RacingBrake sells them, but I've heard mixed reviews on them.
