Stock grants are worth something today and they're given to you, no need to purchase.

A great deal of my income is in the form of stock grants.
Makes sense, thank you for the clarification and congrats for making it to this high level of proficiency

So I'm curious to know what the histogram looks like.
Anonymous poll so no reason to boast or bullish.

Not to be taken out of context, some parts of the world have inflated/depressed economy so bigger number doesn't mean better lifestyle.

I apologize if you find this offensive -- I've added an option just for you.
I've owned a few Huracan's... I did it once with 3 passengers!! That's why I bought what I did.

On your poll, for RETIRED...doesn't mean you have no income.

Also, I'm more curious on total family debt or true Net Worth than income...

...but not curious enough to ask the question(s) on a public forum.

Good point and I fall into this category. My income can be more or less, depends on what monthly stipend I want from investment accounts. While also getting SS and a pension, wife also. I tend to spend with discretion and we do give ourselves a budget, just makes good sense.

Regarding the comment, if someone's ego is frail enough to care about a statement like "you only got X because you couldn't afford Y", then they have more to worry about. Life isn't about keeping up with the Jones'

Man, didn't know Facebook paid its engineers that much. I'm guessing you're in software engineering and a manager or director and not just a regular engineer right?

It's a bragging post , disguised by its wording.

I have no desire to participate, but the comments are entertaining.

Narcissism at its best right here, it runs rapid in Silicon Valley.

Yeah, I know. I was just being sarcastic. I'm actually surprised it took this long for a comment like that to show up. On any of the Vette forums, a comment like that would've popped up before the first page was full. I enjoy these types of threads, but it's funny how people can never just participate or just stay quiet. It's no big deal to me to discuss income with anyone. Don't get why it's such a taboo subject for some.

I don't think it is taboo, it's just unbecoming to be narcissistic and those that feel the need the brag is just off putting to me. Just my opinion

It rubs a lot of people the wrong way, which is why you will usually see those type of responses on page 1 of a post, as you say.

Being humble is a more respectable personality trait that narcissism to me, that's all.

I don’t own a ZL1, but I browse these forums every once in a while. Like many of you, I could have easily afforded a much more expensive trim, a C7Z or even a more exotic vehicle. However, I chose not to and instead invest that money into other ventures. I sometimes get the same feedback from others, saying that if I could afford X vehicle, I would. I honestly don’t think that’s how it works for many of us but, it’s refreshing to see a poll like this that shows that many others have the same mindset/capability.

It was more important to me be very comfortable while still providing a life for my family that I wanted growing up as a child. It’s those intangibles that go a long way. I want my kids to be cultured and experience the world. I want them to have life experiences that can’t be substituted by a quick field trip or a YouTube video. When it comes to stuff like this, there is always a “want” factor. I want this car, I want this modification, etc., but I’d rather allocate that money towards taking my wife and kids on a nice trip.

For someone to say we own a Camaro because we cant afford a vette or some other sport car tells me that they are a poser. I have my zl1 because I like it. I never really wanted a vette. Growing up my buddy and I cruising in the 85 z28 with the T tops off was good times.
You will always have those stuck up snobby people who think they are better then you. But those are usually the ones who got picked on growing up and that makes them feel better.
Drive what you want.
