Dealer installed a new battery in my car before we left the lot when I bought it.

Folks, I have never found an OEM battery to be worth spit. Now I'm not a Chevy guy historically and my 2002' 7.3 Powerstroke might have been the exception - but it had two batteries. Toyota's - all garbage. I have a new Subie 3.6R with 1,000 miles on it in the driveway (nice little rig for the wife) - I expect that battery to poop the bed. I have no indication of it - outside the Subaru Outback forum - which says plan on it.
That's consistent with my new Tundra's, 4Runners and other new cars over the years (more years than I wish to count). MFG's by in large buy millions of batteries. It's not just sitting on a lot. Once that battery is built it will start to degrade on the shelf. I tend to swap out OEM batteries pretty quick. East PENN / Deka are the best. I'm not sure fitment for the 6th Gen Camaro 2SS- . For not a lot of clams replacing OEM Battery seems to be a no-brainer. However I did see a post indicating GM sourced good batteries. Will be interesting to see. |

My 2005 Mustang GT vert loved to eat batteries from day one. Ford could never figure it out so I sold it after a 11/2.

My 2 week old car I notice cranks a little long and enough to notice it and it's my DD. Going to check the battery this morning. From my 15 Mustang Ford had non-sealed batteries in a lot of cars and the battery lives under a cover so you don't see it that it has caps on the top and needs distilled water added. Once I started having problems with it starting I found that all the cells were bone dry. Refilled and charged a few times but it never came back and replaced the battery and all was well again.

Well, the dealer called this morining, they said just the battery, nothing else wrong.
Hope this one last more than a year. I drive the car almost every other day, food store, Casino, just some fun drive once a week, and two weeks each month it gets driven every day to work and back. So I dont think it should be lack of use ? Hope I don't need to some sort of battery tender thing. |

So I got it back, new Battery Installed, On the ride home, dash showed 14.5 Volts, then dropped to 14, 13.8, 13.7, now it seems to be staying around 13.7 volts, is that a good #.
Was surprised to see it changing so much. Also I guess the battery is located kind of under the back seat, they seem to have messed up the carpet in the trunk up near where it meets the seat, is the battery under the seat ??? Flaps |

The battery is on the right side in the trunk, see the picture in your owners manual. The voltage will fluctuate, that's normal, it has intelligent charging, it charges whenever it needs to , not all the time. |

Mine did exactly the same thing. Bad battery, but was able to jump mine with a Noco Genius Boost GB40 and drive it to my dealer. 48AGM was the part number. I work for a company that supplies ACDelco batteries to GM dealers. Unfortunately AGM battery technology still looks like it has a long way to go by the looks of our sales figures. The best part for me is that the dealer buys it from us, gets reimbursed from GM under warranty and I get paid a sales commission for a battery for my own car.
