My 22 went to 3800 status on May 19, 2022. It's sad I have to put the year in that date, but I'm beginning to seriously doubt I'll see the car this year. I started checking the status after purchasing the car on June 3. I was assured that the vehicle was on a transport truck en route to the dealer. They said it could take up to a month for it to arrive. When July rolled around and no car, i found this site and checked the status. 3800 May 19, ETA July 29. After looking up the codes and discovering my car hasn't left Lansing yet, i was pissed. Contacted my sales rep and he said, "well, it might be the first of August". After expressing my disgust, he replied back with "we setup your loan so that you wouldn't have to make payments until you take delivery of the car". Another lie, because guess who called me on Jul 14 asking why i missed my first payment. Since then, my ETA has been pushed back every week, and the current ETA is September 29. I get a weekly email from GM stating it's been built, and that I should check with my dealer for more information. Real helpful! Nobody at my dealer (Eddy's Chevrolet in Wichita KS) has heard of VinView or knows how to check status on an order. At least that's what they tell me. I've spent just under a million dollars on new GM vehicles in my lifetime. I guarantee this will be my last! I have recommended GM to several family members, friends, and co-workers in the past which resulted in several new vehicle purchases. Never again GM. Instead, I'm telling everyone I know my experience in buying this 22 Camaro ZL1. Off my soapbox for now.

Some of these 3800s might finally be moving. Mine showed up at the dealer yesterday after being delayed status for a month. Was still showing 3800 when I last checked on it Monday.

Hope you 22 guys get the rest of your cars moved out soon.

Cox,
I also have been 3800 since may. i have a black 2ss on order with the black exterior package. last I knew it was complete and delayed no ETA. I'm not sure when it will come either. My car went to 4300 back in June and then back to 3800 per Chevy chat. then on here its never made it past 3800 in the order status thread. I have been left in the dark from my dealer and I also financed mine to lock in a special interest rate. I've made 2 payments now and my car remains in Lansing.

Dmchone72, it does seem like the people that have purchased their vehicles are having more issues. After 3800, but before it is shipped, there is a status where GM invoices the dealer. I wonder if there is something in GM's systems that is preventing them from completing that step, and so some paper pusher just pushes back the ETA another week. I've noticed several people have stated there car was pushed back but then it showed up at the dealer in 3800 status.

The more cars that show up at the dealerships at 3800 status gives me hope.

Wow, they are straight up lying to you about VinView. It's literally inside of GM Global Connect which all Chevrolet dealers use. There's a link for it on the main landing page of GM Global Connect & there's also a link on the order page when they pull up your order. Click of a mouse is all it takes. Sounds like your dealer just doesn't care.

I thought Vin View was something dealers had to buy to use it.

I think their has to be something to it. If it wasn't for the interest rate I locked in I wouldn't have purchased mine. I have my title license plate and registration lol. I would drive to pick it up if that was a possibility. I just keep hoping that it moves a little at this point. It's heart breaking week in and week out no change. Not even an eta

If you financed it I’m unsure how you have the title??? I would think the bank you are making payments to has that! Sucks you don’t have your car but I’m at a loss for words why someone would sign on the dotted line without driving off in their new car!!!

The only reason I financed was my dealer had told me it was en route and my offer from the bank expired in a week. I locked in a killer interest rate and without that I would have never done it. Long story short my dealer lied about it being on a truck en route.

I had a 2019 ZL1 that I sold for a 12K profit after 2 years and 30,000 miles. I miss it, so my mind wasn't thinking clearly when I signed.
I added some stipulations to the contract, thinking that would protect me. But, after going through various scenarios in my head... Actually, I don't want to think about the various ways I could get screwed. Live and learn and never do that again.

On a side note, one of the sales managers at the dealership asked me why I bought the car without taking immediate delivery. My response to him was "why did you let your sales reps sell me the car without having it available. Especially since GM sent a memo to dealers to stop doing that". He didn't have a response.

I'm trying not to be a diva, but at what point should I get lawyers involved? 3 months, 6 months, a year?

I really don’t know what a lawyer would do for you. At this point just keep making the payments and put insurance on the car. It’s your now.
