Have you tried playing around with the shifter to see if it will cause the notice to go away?

Check your fuses just in case but to me it sounds like a PRNDL switch. Likely a switch in that assembly if those 10 speeds have that. Or whatever tells the computer the car is in park. Could also be in the wiring.

Yeah I was about to say the same thing Scottyz just posted. Did you jump the car before replacing battery?

There are several threads on defective shifters and one instance of a bad TCM.

The car is fairly new to me I bought it used and I've had nothing but problems with it before this it was spazzing out and you were just disconnect the battery and then put it back on in the car would start but now it just says shift the park and it won't start and I've never jumped the car

The shifter and or TCM should be covered under the 5yr/60k warranty if it’s still valid.

Some dealerships are more “mod friendly” than others I would ask around.
Good luck on getting to the problem.

Yeah, I had that problem last year. The dealer had to replace the whole shifter. The sensor is built into the mechanism. No problems since.

Did you try starting it in neutral? I had a friend with a similar issue but admittedly different car. It started in neutral which indicated a bad neutral safety switch.
