Someone from another post said the cars go there for quality control or to fix things not for sure.

I wonder if they will still try to finish the ones built most likely missing chips.I wouldn't think due to the assembly being down they wouldn't have people doing other things at the plant.

A post in the "2022 New colors and ..." thread includes a link to an NBC News article that says the Camaro plant is down until May 1...

Gearhead's info above may be more accurate since it's direct, but either way is not what any of us wanted to hear.

The memo sent to me says the week of April 26th so the article is sort of correct. It's actually more likely down until May 3rd since it's not likely they'll start back on a Saturday.

GearheadSS,

Do you think when they start up again, will they be continuing and completing the 21’s in the production line OR producing 22’s ??

I guess what I’m asking is....do you have a guess as to when the 22’s will start rolling down the production line.

Kind of a tough question, sorry.

Similarly to the posts above, I was wondering if they will take any more 21 orders that have been trying to go in, I have had a dealer trying to send in my model year 21 order since March 16th but they haven’t had any luck. I want a 21 because the number itself is special to me so any insight u could give me would be appreciated!

If your dealer hasn't received any allocation for 21 its unlikely. Whatever allocation was released today was the last cycle for 2021.

If it's humanly possible they will finish as many of the cars on the line and orders as possible.

There is some mumbo jumbo federal level stuff in play once VINs are created.

I do believe that they will still build at least some of the 2021s in system right now. This week is the last consensus for 2021 Camaro so they're still allocating units to dealers.

If I had to guess, at the very minimum, they're going to extend 2021 production to build what they already have scheduled(cars at 3100 and higher). Some cars that are at 3000 might not get built though. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

If you have an order in with a dealer that isn't at 3000 status, you're probably out of luck on a 2021. If it were me and I was still waiting on a 2021 allocation, I'd go ahead and just have the dealer order a 2022.

That's probably what I'll end up doing. Oh well. The silver lining it that I can now change my color to Rapid Blue.
