Rev limiter cuts on at 5k RPM after battery change

So I have a 2013 Camaro RS/SS that was built in October 2012. Today I was proactive and replaced the OEM battery. Lucky it lasted that long even on a trickle charger.

Anyway, she wont rev past 5k RPM. I did a 5 and 20 fuse pull and hoping that resolves the problem.

Anyone else experienced this rev limiter issue?

Are you revving it in park or in gear?

In neutral as it's a 6 speed manual.

I think the rev limiter is set at 5000 rpm or maybe lower in neutral. So it's normal.

Seems odd but I'll check the coil packs to make sure they are all tight. Had one disconnect after a burnout once. Put the 5 and 20 fuse back in and see what happens in neutral and in gear.

Thank you!

Yeah, he didn't mention he was in neutral, thus the rev limiter is 5000 when not in
gear. Should be around 6200 in gear.

I would be quite interested in what led you to rev the engine on 5000 rpm in neutral.

Recording datalog?

Do I need to be driving to get to 6200 or if I put it in gear and have the clutch in should it go past 5000?

I need to take her for a Sunday drive anyway but damn that rev limiter sucks. Almost as bad as the 1st - 4th gear under low load. But I put in the trans plug to override that crap.

Why do you feel the need to over rev the engine with no load? In gear to 6200 means engine under load as in..in gear with clutch engaged and car moving. The rev limiter is all that’s saving your engine. Put it in first gear and hold it on the floor...see how long it last...report back

^^^^ lol, some people just need to learn the hard way about over revving engines with NO load on them and that aren't built to do so!! Not a good choice.

"skip shift eliminator", all you need to do driving is press the accelerator more to bring the revs up higher before you press the clutch so you can shift it, works every time in my friends Camaro. lol.

If you torture the LS3 engine like this, you can damage the valve springs.
Don't try your luck

Skip shift only appears when you hit 2000 rpm.
If it bothers you, you can turn it off not only with the plug, but also with the tuner.
