ARH header installation

So I have been trying to install the passenger side ARH 2" header and I can't get it in. I'm frustrated because my Swaintech finish is getting all scratched.

I have removed the following:

Coolant tank
Coolant lines
Aluminum skidplate
Stater

What is the trick to get them in. I have read that you might have to remove the motor mount but I really dont want to go that route as guys have install them without removing.

Any advice is appreciated

I could not get my 2" ARH headers in without removing the motor mount. It looks like it's a pain but after doing the same process as you have and finally removing the motor mount I was wondering why I didn't do that it in the first place. It is actually pretty easy to do.

If you havent thrown the dip stick out the garage, you havent struggled enough lmao
I fought that stupid thing with my 2009 G8 installing the headers. Next morning I walked out and stupid thing dropped right in. Sometimes you need to take a break. lol

Removing the passenger motor mount is the only way to slip them in without scratching the hell out of them. It's really not bad, just takes a little time. I found a wobble extension and a swivel socket makes quick work out of it. I didnt even have to remove the starter when I installed mine.

my 2" arh went in from the bottom with ease on the passenger side. The car was on a lift did not remove starter or coolant tank or lines, did not remove motor mount and did not scratch coating.

This is some weird shit how there is inconsistencies with installation. I tried from the top and the bottom and I'm scratching the coating. The driver side I took the steering shaft and nice and smooth.

If your scratching the coating take the entire motor mount out, I think there were 3 bolts holding the bracket onto the engine block and the pad on the frame was another 3 bolts. I have my car down to the shortblock right now and still cant get my passenger side header out, some people just get lucky, who knows!

Great question, I was just thinking that myself. Also I was wondering if I'm removing the motor mount is it a good idea if I install BMR motor mounts that are smaller and lighter?

I was reading the instructions to the BMR mounts and they don't say that the motor needs to be supported. That has my mind going in circles. I'm assuming that the other mount will hold everything in place until you swap them out. Also they left out any torque specs I gave them a call and said 43ft lb for bolts to motor and the other end with the poly bushing just leave 2 threads exposed.

Use a jack and a block of wood like a 4x4 under the oil pan. You might have to lift the motor up slightly to get the header to slide in easily.

I'm thinking now if I should replace the mounts with BMR.

You should have specifically asked them about supporting the motor while replacing the mounts when you called.

My mind is going in circles also about this. Dealing with that motor mount during install is one of the reasons I’ve held off doing headers.

Is this how you did it?
Im assuming the Oil pan won’t get crunched while doing this.
