This should answer the question as to which engines are being upgraded to the new Mobil 1 ESP 0W-40.

See the section circled in red. It's from page 2 of the new oil's FAQ sheet.

In the past Corvette, Camaro and Cadillac all had different oil specs for each vehicle even though they have the same engines. This change clears up all the confusion between cars. Now they align together with the same oil spec moving forward.

I added this picture to the original post, think it will be helpful to have that info upfront.

+1...

Lifting from the wrong lift points is just that...wrong. While this is informative regarding oil changes and oil...owners need to know this is the wrong way to lift there investments per the manufacture. That way when they see something like this happening it can be corrected or prevented before damage occurs. I realize the OP just wants this to be an oil change thread but from my humble perspective it’s related. Too many forum users went in for an oil change, got a ZL1 lifted like this and came home with damage.

I come and go in peace.

You have the cleanest exhaust I’ve ever seen for a 1500 mile car. Very appreciative of the post and will be switching over oil this week.

It's also well documented that if you're lifting from all 4 points at once, it's safe to do what we did.
He was certainly wrong. Several have reported bent aluminum components doing what he did.

There are many oil options, countless really. I only included OEM used oils. Obviously there are advantages and disadvantages of many different brands/weights etc. OEM 5w30, 15w50 for track requests, and the 0w40 ESP that replaces both for certain engines.

OK, coming from a guy who is a mechanical dumbarse......If I get this oil put into the car, and on a track day the engine goes 'poof', will it still be covered? I ask because a dealer/GM could say that I didn't put the recommended oil that the Owners Manual/HP Supplement said to put in, so they will not cover it.

Guess I'll jump in, first off, the chances of GM voiding a warranty due to oil are slim. Secondly, this is an OEM Recommended Dealer Installed oil that SAYS it's for Street and Track use on LT1, LT4, and LTA engines (The LT5 requires a different oil when tracking). So really no way you can lose here IMO.
