So, yeah, my AA seems to have been disabled. It happened right when maps+ became available.
Btw -- it's not a DD. I drive it like once a week, and rarely need AA.
Also, my data ran out a few months ago. I just got a data plan (no onstar, so can't use maps+).
Now, when I try to use AA, I get a message that I have to contact Onstar.

Anyone know what's up with that?

No luck at all...don't order the card if your car tag doesn't say it has navigation. I ordered the wireless AA in March and Just now got a tracking number issued, but hasn't shipped yet.

I've been messing around with MAPS+ here and there. It gets the job done when I want to keep my phone in my pocket or not take my phone at all.

You should call onstar support about that. For MAPS+ you either need the hotspot plan activated or the new connected apps plan.

One of the first things they will have you do is start the car, turn it off, and open the driver door for 5 minutes. Is a reset and it works when my unit acts up from time to time.

We can enable the nav and HD radio in your unit if you already have the card; would be foolish to waste it.

Can you put HD Radio on a 2016? The sound quality in the convertibles is terrible. I think HD Radio would help.

I am just stuck on how long I am going to keep the car. With the used values up so much, I am just waiting for a call from my dealer to confirm he can get my order produced. I would have done this years ago if I had known. I hate to spend the money and just trade it in though.

Hardware & software
° Samsung Galaxy S10e with Android 11
° AAWireless ver 1.2.3
° 2018 Camaro 2SS with MyLink 2.5

AAWireless exterior impressions
+ Professional build quality and packaging
+ Package includes sturdy USB-C cable
+ Good online support via dedicated site/forum (considering this is an indiegogo project)
+ Android companion app for configuration and OTA updates that is fairly decent, has lots of modes and compatibility "knobs"

° Setup is a bit tricky, one must understand that the unit uses both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, so the idea is that one must pair it with BT first, then it negotiates its own Wi-Fi connection between the phone and the unit, and then it's good to go

- I struggled a lot initially with settings, had to enable wireless projection in Android Auto in two places, then reboot both the phone and the AAWireless unit several times before the setup started working. The trick (I think) was to "prime" the wired AA connection first, get through the approvals on both the car and the phone, then switch to wireless in the next "cycle".

Usage and performance
+ Initial connection is fast, only takes a few seconds after starting the car (ie the USB slots receiving power)—I do have some spurious connection issues that I've reached out to support about, though
+ Works fine with my Silverado USB receptacle that has 2 USB, 1 aux and 1 SD card reader slot
+ Performance is very, very good—no input lag, no GPS lag, smooth scrolling, smooth pinch zooming in google maps, no audio issues, instant response
+ Integration with the car works perfectly—steering wheel controls all work inside and outside of AA, controlling exactly what one expects in terms of soundtracks, volume, mute in both scenarios
+ The unit didn't get hot at all after about an hour of use (the phone obviously did warm up considerably sitting on the wireless charging pad)
+ It handles car restarts without a hitch, reconnection is almost instantaneous

° Haven't yet been able to test parasitic draw after turning the car off, hopefully there is none, provided it doesn't prevent the USB module from properly going to sleep
° Longevity and long term stability remains to be seen, I've only just received the unit

Overall
This is a no-brainer to me for the price I paid ($55), as it provides the tether-free 2021+ AA experience with outstanding preformance and responsiveness, sacrificing absolutely nothing in the process. 10/10 so far.

Got mine in yesterday...love it. In order to get it to work,, I hand to start the android auto app from scratch (clear cache, clear storage) and delete the phone from the vehicles Bluetooth.

Hmm.. I have the latest info version, latest OTA updates, etc, on my 2021 ZL1 (with nav) and do not have a Maps+ showing up anywhere as an app or anything.

Ahhhh. So if you paid for nav, you are stuck with the older and more inferior nav setup? The real time traffic doesn't seem to do anything with the nav systems either, lol.
