Battery died. Any suggestions on replacement Battery.

My battery died. Generator in my building kicked on a few weeks ago due to hot weather overloading the grid in NYC. Tripped the circuit breakers going on emergency power causing my trickle charger to stop working. I haven't had time to drive the car. Went to try to go for a drive recently and its completely dead. Tried charging, starter just clicks and the battery drains instantly after I remove the boost from my Equus. I know slow starting and battery drain is an issue with these cars.

Any good replacement battery recommendations? I also read up the the poor ground from the factory will be purchasing a better ground cable.

i got the yellow top optima AGM battery (H6). Heavier than the stock battery...BUT, it doesnt help with the hot start or battery drain issues. I think the AC Delco AGM is about the same weight as the optima too (I have one of those in the garage as well lol).

I've been using Duralast gold from autozone for about 20 years and haven't had any problems with them. Their basically a die hard battery.

I agree.

My stocker was still good but I replaced it last year with one that looks like the one pictured above.

I've been a Duralast fan for a long time but changed batteries brands on all my cars. Duralast let me down several times with my other cars. They say Duralast is same as DieHard, but I think they went to a cheaper manufacture. If you're going to get DieHard might as well get a original one. Good luck mate!

Read: This might help with battery lasting longer with better ground. GM really flaked on ground wire and ground to the rear body. I just added another ground loop to help with current.

I did read that, thanks. I will be getting a better grounding cable and connection.
Gonna drop by autozone today after work and take a look at the batteries you guys mentioned. Need to drive the Z this weekend.

I believe most of the new batteries come with a 3 year warranty now.

2nd the Odyssey recommendation, we have them in most of our cars and have had great luck with them. No battery problems here…

I did a Duralast gold a few months back. (had original battery from Oct 2014)
Did the beefed up ground wire (battery to body) that PZERO did as well.
Starts right up every time even if it sits for a couple weeks.

I replaced the battery's in both Z/28, but i went to a bigger group size then what GM put in our cars, went next size up, the one used in the regular SS camaro, but the hold down black plastic part is not the same, the Z/28 is 2+" longer and will not fit so we ordered some from the SS car, that fixed the hold down of the battery, funny part the Z/28 part is $35 and the SS is only $8 so if you change to the bigger battery don trow away the old clamp.
