Two choices, two good prices. Which one?

Okay, here goes, 2015 hellcat manual or 2017 1LE SS. I know this is a Camaro forum but I’d like honest opinions if possible

I have run into a family connection where I can purchase a low mile 2015 stock hellcat for 43k. It’s Mint. Or I have my eyes on a 2017 1LE with the same mileage (about 5k) for 33k.

I intend to drive either about 10k a year. No road courses, maybe the occasional 1/4 mile that’s right by my house. I have access to mountain roads too. Thoughts? Anyone driven a manual 6 hellcat challenger? Before anyone says ZL1, I don’t want to spend 52k. Which one between the 1LE and hellcat?

I would take a Gen5 1Le over the Hellcat and save more cash , then build a beast that can turn .

Easy choice for me, do you want a 700 hp land barge (more room) that's a straight line killer beast or the Camaro that has less room but is a true sports car that does so many things well? Do what fits your lifestyle and makes you happy.

As always depends on your specific needs and what you want the most.
Do you want an all around car or more straight line perf?
Do you need the rear seats?
Also looks, IMO the Camaro wins here. I just can't wrap me head that you have a Hellcat with all that hp and no tires for traction.
If you have access to mountain roads, don't need the fastest car at the strip, don't need the rear seats it's an easy answer - 1LE.

First world problems! I have a 4 year old, she could probably manage the 1LE.

If you want more interior room, usable back seat, and care more about 1/4 mile times, go with the challenger. If you want the pure drivers car, it'll be the 1LE.

If I'm buying a Hellcat, it's to drag race and I want an auto.

The Camaro SS 1LE is the obvious choice here for twisties.

For what it's worth, my 13yr old still fits in the back of my 6th gen comfortably, but I'm 5'8" so the seat doesn't go all the way back. I've test drove a couple of Challengers and I'm not a huge fan of them. It's a land yacht that really doesn't handle that well. Sure, it goes straight VERY fast, but that's about all it does. The Camaro is a good, all round sports car. I chose the Camaro in the end.

Love to Drag Race - Get The Hell Cat -
Love a track car that's a great all around DD with similar performance to a C7 Vette - Get the Camaro.

I have owned both. And currently own a 2016 Challenger Hellcat w/ the manual transmission. My wife has a 2018 2SS auto she bought this past May. The Hellcat is the most fun car I have ever owned , it is an absolute riot in about any gear and is as comfortable as a caddy. I’ve had 5th gen ZL1’s 1LE’s and a Z/28. And the Hellcat IMO is by far the better every day fun car.... Now that being said if you ever get started with tracking your car then the Camaro is the easy winner. Don’t believe all the bench racers saying a Challenger can’t go around curves because that’s just completely wrong or pure fanboy-ism. It can’t keep up on a road course with most of the Camaro’s but on public roads it is more than capable of cornering faster than you probably ought to be going. No one can make your decision but you , but I can say in my experience the Challenger is the better car for me personally. But you could ask my wife this same question and she’s gonna say Camaro every time. It’s a personal decision with no wrong answer. Here are our 2 cars.

Without hesitation I'd choose the 2017 1LE.
