In regard to legality, I never heard back. Not sure if there’s a DOT stamp on them, and even if there is, I don’t know if they underwent proper testing. If you are wanting DOT approved lamps, I would suggest you look elsewhere. If a DOT stamp is on them I’ll let you know once mine arrive.

The best price I have from the same vendor I’ve been dealing with is $250/shipped. I’ve pushed and asked for better pricing but this is it. Still it’s better than the price I paid for my set. This is the vendor I’ve been working with for my order and the vendor I feel most comfortable with as I know they have the lamps available on-hand and ready to ship.

If anyone is interested, once I receive mine, and take some low quality iPhone pics and videos, we can entertain the notion of a group buy.

I'm interested, depending on how the fit + finish + function is, obviously

New rear tail lights

Well, bad news.

The lights are not designed to work with any RS or SS equipped Camaro. They hyperflash. I already had the Gen5DIY reverse bulb harness, which does not change their behavior. I removed the resistor harness and got the same thing.

I then called Gen5DIY and they have another set of lamps that they received from China, different than these, but have tried every load resistor to address the hyperblinking and they didn't work.

Gen5 did mention that there is an apparent fix for them but he doesn't know when it will be available, what the fix will be or if that fix will work until he gets it in the shop to test.

Unfortunately, that's all I have. I can't recommend them unless you have a non-RS/SS car and/or are willing to deal with hyperflashing. I put them back in the box and will reach out to the supplier soon.

Yup. And they have also halted sales on them. Probably for the “fix” lol

They also need the reverse led load resistor to prevent the reverse bulb from illuminating when the car is off

New rear tail lights

The donor vehicle did not have an RS package and wasn’t an SS.
They are now aware of the issue.
This is the same issue for the supplier of the replica GM dark tails on Alibaba.

I wouldn’t expect an expeditious fix for this.

So I could get these on a non-rs and I don't need a resistor for the turn signals? Oh boy that's tempting....

To run them on a non-RS you’d need the lamps but also the adapter harness for LED lamps. For non-RS cars you can’t run the LED assembly without a conversion harness. Gen5DIY makes the harness for $100.
