OEM PPF

Any one removed factory PPF on lower rear rocker panels? Going to get better stuff on there

Assuming PPF is the clear film protection. I had mine repainted and a clear film put on the whole rocker panel about a year ago. It protects very well and I would recommend this approach.

What does PPF stand for?

Who repainted yours? How did it come out? Costs?

My Chevy dealership - I think it was about $300 and maybe $100 for the film at Ziebart. I have since found a local shop that does my PPF and window tinting.

The funny thing about having the rockers repainted was that same dealership pinched one of the rockers on their lift. They were honest about it, replaced it and had new film installed. I probably would have not noticed it for months. Since then, I installed red pinch weld saddles to give them a target to shoot for.

I didn't do rocker panels...……. but removed a strip from the front bumper. Taking it off is the easy part, get a corner up and pull gently at a 45 degree angle.

The hard part is getting the adhesive residue off the paint, use Rapid Tac Rapid remover to save a lot of time.

Before applying new PPF be sure and wipe area down with IPA or Eraser to ensure proper bond.
