Convertible roof adjustments because of windnoises

Hi there,

I'm a bit disappointment from our dealerships over here in germany.
Nobody could help me so far with my wind noise problem coming from the soft top. Problem is that the top is not aligned with the front windshield frame - it does sit a bit lower on the driver side and a bit higher than the frame on the passenger side.
I'll attach a picture later on.

Question is - is there any possibility to adjust the fitting of the soft top and how?

Thx a lot in advance and sorry for my english....

Magnus

Please do yourself a favor and bring it to a shop that specializes in convertible top replacement (s) / repairs. I adjusted my 2016 convertible. It ended up working out, but it was a nightmare. Doing it by yourself is an absolute no. Adjusting without understanding the exact impact is another huge no, no. You can cause things to bind, pinch etc… as well, you can’t stop the motion quickly by using the remote.

Preferably, adjustment is a two man, manual procedure. Good luck.

My dealer sends all the top work out to a local high-end trim shop. I would look for one of those like the previous post says. That being said, wind noise is not great on these cars - I've just grown used to it. Mostly it comes from the rubber seal that hangs in space between the side and rear quarter windows. I would make sure that you are not hearing that before doing anything major.

+1 find the best local convertible top specialist. Ask around at a local car meet. Often, as is the case around me, dealers will use them too instead of having their techs do the work.

I never drive mine top up unless I get caught out in rain, and that's less than once/yr on average.

Wind noise is part of the drop top life. But yeah the fit on the top should be even.
