OEM Stripes - 2017 SS - Matte or Glossy
I just picked up a 2017 Red 1SS Convertible and wanted to have OEM stripes painted on - Can anyone tell me if they are glossy or matte finish?
Also, some pics of red convertibles with OEM stripes - particularly the back trunk and tonneau - along with dimensions (width of stripes and spacing) would be much appreciated. Want to be able to show my paint person. Thanks |

It is about 500 to 1000 more than vinyl - depending on how many colors are layers of clear coat are used and if you are considering OEM stripe package vs third party....
The one thing I like about painted stripes is there is no edge to collect dirt or the inevitable white wax line.... Of course with vinyl it's easy to remove to go back to stock or a different look - assuming the paint has held up in the exposed paint vs underneath the vinyl I'm looking into painted stripes since I like the 50th anniversary OEM stripe package but wanted it to extend onto the front bumper. Couldn't find it in vinyl but with paint, anything is possible.... |
