Update
We received the ported MSD from Pray this week. Installed it a couple of days ago. Based on several graphs showing the MSD vs the OEM manifold, we added a little bit of fuel above 5,000 RPM. No other changes were made to the tune. I did not bring my laptop to the dyno today and I regret it. The engine was running about 12.5: 1 through most of the RPM range(Green line on AF graph); I would have liked to have leaned it out to make the comparison more accurate. The previous tune with the Pray Ported OEM intake manifold was was running at about 13:1 down low gradually dropping to about 12.6:1 up top. (Red line on AF graph.) The comparison is about what is to be expected, a little loss of torque down low, about a 25 WHP gain at 6,500 RPM. The car went from 403 HP/404 Torque to 464 HP/468 Torque with a flex fuel sensor, E85, Roto-Fab CAI, Soler Performance 95 MM throttle body, Pray Performance ported OEM intake manifold, New Era Performance cat delete pipes, and a tune. Installing the Pray Performance ported MSD IM netted 473 HP/463 torque, untuned. We should pick up about 5 more WHP and 5-10 more ft-lbs of torque once the air fuel is dialed in. I attached a graph that Brett put up on Facebook where he does a direct comparison between his ported OEM intake manifold and his ported MSD intake manifold.

Am I reading that right?
You gained about 9HP and lost 5tq at peak after buying a $1400 intake and paying to get it ported as well? I know the afr is slightly off 0.1ish up top, but thats not really anything and that doesn't make me super pumped to change my stock intake. Hopefuly the re tune nets some better results for you!

The end game is to get ported heads and a bigger cam. The mods installed so far will only enhance the performance of the head/cam combination. Driving the car, I don't really feel the loss down low. When the tune is dialed in the losses below 5,000 RPM will be minimal. What can be felt now, is how hard the car pulls past 5,500 RPM. With the stock intake manifold, even though it was ported by Pray Performance, the car felt flat above 5,500 RPM. If I spent the $1,500.00 expecting 20+ peak WHP gain, I would have been disappointed. When the tune is dialed in with the current setup, the 30 WHP gain at 6,500 RPM will have been worth it, to me. I know that all of the current modifications will help the motor to take advantage of the head/cam package that I install next year.

Tuned MSD
We took the car to the dyno this week and retuned the air/fuel for the MSD intake manifold. Gained most of the HP/Torque that we lost below 5,000 RPM. The OEM intake manifold is better at 4,000 RPM, but the MSD intake manifold is about the same everywhere else below 5,000 RPM. Above 5,000 is where the MSD shines when compared to the OEM intake manifold. We gained 33 HP and 26 Ft.-lbs of torque at 6,500 RPM. The MSD picked up about 15 HP peak over the OEM, and made slightly more peak torque.

Man, thanks for posting so it gives us an idea on future plans. I would like to stay NA if possible and get 450/450 on 91 pump or E85. Surprised you haven’t done headers yet.

Funny that you mentioned not doing headers yet-installed the ARH system yesterday. At 6,500 RPM this car sings now.

For a test run did you ever dyno the MSD manifold and ported 95mm TB with the adaptor that necks down to 87mm? I'm curious how much this would affect power numbers.

No. Once I got the MSD, I eliminated the adapter. Never tested the MSD with the adapter installed.
