My best Whipple pass yet

The weather is good this time of year, lots of faster times out there.

New personal best, still on street tires, same setup as last time out when i went 11.40 @ 128!!! Took tires down to 22psi, and instead of leaving off idle, was giving it 2-3k of rpm when leaving. Just waiting for my wheels to come in, already have my DR's and skinnies to put on, hopefully have some time yet to get them on and get to the track.

made 12 passes this day, a bunch of 11.0's, 11,10's, slowed down as the day went on and the track seemed to go away. No lift shifting all day, grabbing 2nd it broke loose spinning a little, sometimes a little wheel hop.

Great pass, some aren't doing that on drag radial with A8. Good driving also, takes some skills to get where you are with an M6 and 1.73 on street tires makes it more impressive.

I'm an equal opportunity congrats guy no matter what system you run. We all work hard to make sure these cars perform their best. I always appreciate hard work, your doing that. You need to put a hoosier slick on that Camaro and you'll improve those 60' times. So save some bucks and get that done. You could for sure get below or around 10.50 with those. The slicks usually help your mph also since they grow on the big end where a drag radial or street tire stays flat all the way down the track. I run the 28x10-17 Hoosiers on a 17x9.5 race star wheel. Skinnies up front. A few years back I had a NA C5 vet with M6 and launching is an art and I worked very hard like you to get the most out of that car, broke a lot of shit with a drag radial so that's one valuable lesson I learned so I pass that on to the M6 guys so they don't tear shit up

Agreed...I bet it would go 10.4 on a slick. You have to factor the gains from a lighter wheel too. Most running good times are on a drag pack not 20" wheels.

I have the tires, waiting on wheels to be instock and ship, should be this week. The rear tires are bias plys.

Front
Wheels: Race Star 92's 17x4.50 5x120BC 1.75"BS GLOSS BLACK
Tires: M/T ET FRONT 27.5/4.0-17

Rear
Wheels: Race Star 92's 17x10.5 5x120BC 7" BS GLOSS BLACK
Tires: M/T ET STREET R BIAS 28x11.5-17

I would be pumped with anything better than 10.499. If published weights are true on both my current and incoming setup, I should save 132 lbs total, all rotating mass. I am alittle afraid of breaking axles or driveshaft.....that is next on the list.

Your track must be prepped well.
I haven't gotten a single clean run since I've been boosted

Got my drag pack on and just trying to find a day/night that works to get to the track.

Using a bathroom scale I weighed both my street and drag setups:

Street
Front: MRR M228 20 x 9 with Continental Extreme Contact Sport 275/35/20 = 56 lbs each
Rear: MRR M228 20 x 11 with Continental Extreme Contact Sport 305/35/20 = 60.5 lbs each

Track
Front: Race Star 92's 17x4.50 with M/T ET FRONT 27.5/4.0-17 = 33 lbs each
Rear: Race Star 92's 17x10.5 with M/T ET STREET R BIAS 28x11.5-17 = 52.5 lbs each.

Savings
Front: 23 lbs each
Rear: 8 lbs each
Total: 62 lbs

I feel like the track setup weighed more than the published weights, I don't know if it is the tires or the wheels.

Also I did have to move the harness in the driver side rear wheel well.
