2013 ZL1 steering wheel removal?
Does anyone know how to remove the steering wheel off a 2013 ZL1? I'm having troubles and can't seam to get it off. I don't see the small holes on the back like earlier models? What am I missing, thanks.
Bill

ok there is 2 small holes. you have to turn the steering wheel 180 degrees and you will find 2 small slots that you have to get a small flathead screwdriver. and if the hole is in the left push to the right, and the hole in the right push to the left. All while you are puling the airbag out. Please also a HUGE REMINDER. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY and let the car discharge for at least 10 minutes.

I will take pics of the 2 small holes. These are the same as to all Camaro's 2012 and up

I tried and tried but can't get the airbag to release. It's really pissing me off! I don't want to get to rough with it and damage it. I'm wanting to paint my surround. Would it hurt to drive the car without the airbag installed besides a safety issue? I was thinking about having the dealership remove the airbag this spring and come back home to remove my surround and get it painted. I would have no problem installing the airbag after I was all done with everything, of course with the battery disconnected! Any suggestions? Thanks.

I tried, tried and tried again over the weekend with no luck! I think I'm just going to buy a new steering wheel and forget all the headache, I will let the dealership swap it out this spring.

so sorry for the wait. Again take a small screwdriver (flathead) and wiggle it to the opposite side. I.E if the slot is on the left then move it to the right if the slot is on the right then move it to the left. you should feel a small clip on each side.
