Weird rattling buzzing noise when accelerating
So I recently got an x pipe installed and when i started driving it i start to hear rattling, something like when someones bass is real loud you hear the metal vibrating off the car. Not sure what it is. Any suggestions on what it could be? Thanks

Was it welded or clamped together?

Gotcha. Very possible something got shifted or moved upon install, and now there's metal on metal somewhere. As long as what you're describing isn't some strange frequency or resonance from the x-pipe itself, then it seems logical that there's something rubbing or touching somewhere

x-pipe here and while i didn't have a rattle at first a couple years ago, there is one lately. Seems to happen at idle ...and when accelerating from idle ...hard to hear it over the exhaust any other time.
All of the shielding around the exhaust is secure and dampened. I can't find anything loose related to the exhaust and it doesn't appear to touch anything. The sound appears to be originating up front somewhere. The two secondary cats are mounted really close to eachother, but they seem welded apart so i can't imagine that they can touch eachother. If it's not something internal to the exhaust system i have no clue what's causing it... maybe something resonating not near the ehxaust but due to it? I was worried torque converter was tapping the flywheel due to something coming loose. But it's very much related to the exhaust ...putting the car in idle/park lowers/stops the noise. Starting cold usually results in no rattle. |

I had the same issue a year ago and found out I cracked my resonator while driving last year so I had them wield it and got a muffler delete but come to find out the people didn’t wield my new tips right so I was having more noise after a while, when I went to another muffler shop the guy showed me and completely wielded it and my noise has been gone since, I do still have this little cranking noise time to time so I’m wondering if everything is bracketed on right or needs to be tightened idk though it
