Doesn't matter. Even if it is zero, which it won't be, it would still be a good deal at $1,000/month depreciation for an awesome car.

I buy low, enjoy the car, and never stress about what I get back at trade in.

If timing is right, it will be right around the time of the massive discounts for C8 Corvettes from Kerbeck et al.

And this dealership is awesome. I have never been treated as well by any dealer (and that includes Jaguar and Mercedes dealers) in my life.

There's one doing this EVERY TIME.

Let's see the breakdown of available discounts, then we can calculate the real price which is thousands higher. Oh, but I know, your buddy will give you all the discounts or whatever... this isn't realistic.

Picked up my 2019 1le in January paid in cash and worked on them for a bit but got it for 36,800. It was "used" with 2300 miles on it. LOL -- used hahahaha

Felt I got a very solid deal at the time. Love the new front end too!

Not anywhere near me you can't. I've watched 1LE prices for a couple years here. Lowest I ever saw was 2018s going for $38K in late 2018/early 2019 and that was not with 0%. If you see a 1LE new at a dealer for $34-35K I guarantee you won't see "dealer discount" before that price. Just every incentive in the world baked into the price, which 99% of people won't qualify for all of them or even most of them.

The market SUCKS when you try to trade them in. The 1SS's that is. Every dealer aside from chevy dealers will run your vin and compare it with cars that go through the regional auctions. And they always see the car as a standard 1SS. Then they regurgitate auction numbers of standard 1SS cars and value your car the same not knowing yours should be $10k more. Happened to me like 5 times when I was trying to trade out of mine. Was BS. I had a 2017 1SS 1LE and it had 1400 miles and I was getting $28k to $32k when I paid $45k for it a few months prior.

When I was trying to sell my 2016 Z71 Silverado RCSB, to purchase a Camaro 1SS 1LE, the dealers offered me $22k, the highest was $23.5k.
I sold it on CL for $26.5k and it took me 1 week from my first dealer offer.

Need to remember, dealers are in the car selling business and not the car buying business no matter what they say.

Here's a good place where I got the highest offer, others may find their offer good for whatever is being sold...fast and easy!

I'm wondering what the market will be like by year end. I'm guessing several incentives on 19's, kind of like what they have now for 18's. I'm not normally a new car buyer (I strictly buy pre-owned because I have Car A.D.D., and within 1 year of ownership, I'm ready for something different), unless it's a lease. That being said, it's hard to ignore new car vs used car prices are between $2-5k difference. For that amount of money, buying new is starting to sound really appealing. As far as depreciation, (even for specialty models) GM (and numerous other manufacturers do it themselves) kills their resale value by adding incentives and rebates. That's the main reason for depreciation! If there's one great thing about Porsche, there are NEVER incentives! No special APR, no rebates, no (or very little) discounts! That's one of the greatest reason why Porsche's have high resale value.
Take me for example: I'm considering an 18 or 19 2SS 1LE. Normally, I would only shop pre-owned, but considering the incentives, I'm heavily considering new, unless I come across something pre-owned that I simply can't pass up. Honestly, based on the new car incentives, I might find a killer deal on pre-owned because someone is itching for their next car and simply wants to dump it...

So you got $3,000 more than dealers offered, but lost the $1,938 sales taxes credit you would have gotten if you traded in at the dealer.

So you took all the risk and aggravation to sell it privately for $1,062.

I'd rather use that math during negotiations to get a dealer to sweeten the deal. Chevy dealers are desperate to move cars, since they primarily only know how to sell trucks and SUVs. Deals abound if you are buying a Camaro or Corvette.

One word for you: LT1

Soon dealer lots will be FULL of brand new 2020 V8 Camaros with 20" wheels for $34,995 list prices and likely ˜$30,000 advertised prices.

The typical Camaro buyer does not understand 1LE or even SS. If it looks good, is the right color, has a V8 and Apple Car Play/Android Auto they don't care about anything else.

It will take a "special" person to buy a used Camaro at the prices some people here are mentioning. The good news is that such "special" people do exist. The bad news is that there are fewer of them now after Google.

Question: If I’m trying to run the price of a used 2018 on kbb, do I only click on the 1le option or do I also have to click on dual exhaust, ground effects etc?
Thank you

He might have only made 3k, but private selling can be the way to go depending on the circumstances. I sold my 2011 Silverado 2500HD CCSB for 28.5k when the dealers all wanted to give me 19-20. Personally, after private selling a car, I might never sell a car to a dealer again. There are some precautions you have to take, but overall it’s a simple process.

Yes, of course. Specially when you get a mark (err buyer) that can pay $9K more than the dealers.

I was just making the point that, when you are selling relatively late model expensive cars, you can't ignore the value of the sales tax credit you get when trading in.

In my case, I sold my Corvette for ˜$45K in a state with ˜7% sales tax. I'd need to find a private buyer willing to pay at least $50K to make it worthwhile ($3.2K in tax credit + convenience and risk avoidance). Given that I was selling it in November and in New England, chances would be very slim.
