exhaust for convertible
Starting to look around for a better sounding exhaust for my 2013 2LT Vert.
any of the places i check online don't say if they will fit the vert too. question is are the exhausts the same on the vert as they are on the coupe? and if not could anybody recommend one? or at least a site that takes the vert in question TIA |

In the spring I am going with LTH/HFC/x-pipe. I currently am stock on my SS except that I did a muffler delete which I was surprised that it's really not that loud without mufflers.
And noted, due to the undercarriage bracing, not all mufflers will fit the vert, you need to make sure the model you choose with fit. joe...

Coupe and convertible mufflers/exhaust are different. The convert has a box hanging down on the underside of the trunk floor that can hit the mufflers. I ran into this on my 2013 2SS with a used Flowmaster system. :(

I went with TSP long tube headers, no cats and left the rest of the exhaust stock. I think it sounds awesome, pretty quite till you get on it, then it’s get loud. Best of both worlds

Anyway, I’ve had this setup since new (4.5 years) and it’s been great. Still somewhat quite at idle and low RPM—although you hear it and kinda know sumpins up)—then it wails when the duals open up at 3000. With CAI and honed throttle body, picked up 44 RWHP.

Have dynatech competition 2 inch headers, 3 inch magnaflow exhaust fits fine with brace mods completed same day without spacers.

I am also looking around for an exhaust for my 2014 2LT Convertible (non-RS). Looking at either Borla or MRT, but open for suggestions. I grew up in cars with headers so I am used to the noise, but I don't want TOO much drone.

I have the solo-performance axle back on my LS3 convertible. I LOVE it, however I just checked solo's catalogue and I believe that the only solo-performance option for your 13 V6 will be a cat-back. <>$ 960. Well worth it if it opens up the V6 like it did my V8.

I have had the Solo cat back on my V6 since it was new. I love it nice deep sound when you get on it but no drone and quiet otherwise. Does not sound as good as a V8 but really improves the sound on the V6 over stock.

Well, I purchased the MRT V1.0 exhaust, just waiting for it to get delivered. I will not get it installed until after I pull the car out of storage in April, but I am hoping it sounds great.

I have a Flowmaster American Thunder catback system on mine right now and it sounds good. Just got a great deal on a set of Kooks headers with the high flow cats so when I get them put on I will post a video of a before and after.
