Sounds good in the A8 until it switches from v4 to v8 mode under light acceleration. Get a weird noise so I put mine back in.

So this is my new favorite little mod in combination with the lowering of the back seat for more beautiful v8 music.

But i am wondering, why would anyone want to delete the sound tube? Its by no means obnoxious with the foam in or out, and gives a little bit more v8 rumble inside, i dont get why anyone would want to get rid of it.

I guess i could see why the A8 crowd would want to due to AFM, but that can be disabled easily. Otherwise, why?

At first i thought the sound tube just delivered more "woosh" sound, like a vacuum, which would sound shitty, but now realize thats not the case, it adds a deep rumble into the cabin which is intoxicating.

I tried this last night as well on my M6. *wow* I was not expecting that much of a difference! Gives it that little bit of extra growl.

I wont lie, when i went WOT for the first time after removing it, it spooked me since i wasnt expecting that much of a change in sound. This plus putting the backseat down are by far the best little "mods" to add a little more rumble inside the cab, i love it!

Same reaction I had when I first tried it. To me this is a MUST DO for any LT1 car with M6 or AFM disabled on the A8.

Did this little mod to my '16 last week and really like the sound now. Of course I did the fuse pull and set my exhaust to track mode in the settings and also have a CAI brand system installed!

true but it is crazy how that little piece of foam has that kind of silencing to it. I would say my Kooks I ordered before memorial day were in but I'm still waiting for it to arrive.

Any positive input from those who did this mod on their A8?

Honestly the transition sound is not terrible to me. It lasts for such a brief moment and typically under light load during the transition. Usually I can feel the engine bog and left off the throttle or give it more when it does that anyway.

When I tried the delete, I found the cabin strangely and numbingly quiet - I need the rumble - but I still like it better with the foam in

Just removed it on mine, but didn't notice a difference on startup or giving it a few revs. Will have to see what it does on the road.

Take it for a spin and get on it you'll be able to tell the difference. Especially if you have a man pedal.

A clutch pedal has no bearing on the sound. It sounds just as loud for an auto.
