Fuel door came upside down!

Pretty funny - the dealer forgot to add the fuel door to my build so they ordered the part separately. Imagine my surprise when the thing would only mount when I turned it upside down; they had bolted on the nameplate backwards, which resulted in shenanigans when I tried to slide it in place right side up.

Unscrewing the bolts and reversing direction fixed it, but sill ridiculous that they assembled and packaged it this way without noticing!

That's GM's response to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration bulletin that mandates, after 2017, all passenger car gasoline filler inlets be readily identifiable and readable after a roll over event.

LOL even more ridiculous that the dealership even installed it.

You shouldn't have had to unscrew anything. The lid is held in by a clip and slides on and off the hinge. I am really surprised it would even install upside down. I have changed the door on both of my 6th gens.

The install is actually directional with a tab on one side that fits into a slit on the hinge, so it would *only* install upside down. The only way to fix their mistake was to unbolt the piece of plastic with the lettering and turn it around.

Incidentally the two painted inserts also are directional (or at least the text on the back that says "this end up") and were installed upside down as well so I swapped them.
