I can only imagine the next gen 1le/z28 is gonna have to compete directly with the gt350/r.
How cool if that car got a bump in hp (na of course) e-diff and dare i say it: spool valve suspension for the z28. Match that with gm's latest track managment (ptm) and you'll have on hell of a performer

If they manage to fix the overheating issues that the Z06 is having with the LT4, then the ZL1 would be hard to resist. I'm assuming it'll cost what the current Stringray costs, but should be able to outrun it.

If there even is a 6th gen 1LE, I'd bet the 5th gen Z28 dampers and maybe other bits would trickle down to it. Who knows, maybe the 6th gen Z28 might get adjustable coilovers standard.

I'd be curious what meaningful improvements people think a possible 6th Generation ZL1 might have over a 6th generation SS? Within in the next year or two I'm seriously considering trading my 2012 2LT in for a V8 2SS or ZL1... I'm just not sure if the ZL1 would be worth waiting for? I would imagine the ZL1 would have the same sort of 640-650HP LT4 that the CTS-V and the Z06 has, though from my admittedly meager understanding of such things the LT4 is just an LT1 with a few improvements and a supercharger. I imagine there will be performance boosts all around for the ZL1, but what compelling changes might there be that it would have over a modded 2ss?

I find it hard to believe that some people can not fathom a car benefiting from improvements.
Some on the board act as if there is no reason to bother with a 1LE. The new Camaro can be made better with a track pack. I don't care what Al O or anyone else at GM says. The car can get better.

I'm hoping we'll have some ZL1 news by Jan-March 2016. If not I'll be ordering a 2SS and then most likely regretting it once the ZL1 is revealed.

Someone posted that there might be a wide-body variant coming, my guess is well see a wider track ZL1, and that the "1LE" will be a LT1 version of that body style.
