Hendrick Camaros qualify 1st - 4th for Daytona
Nothing else to do here in the -10 temps in Minnesota so I watched the Daytona pole qualifying and the Hendrick cars rans 1st thru 4th

It was great to see so many Camaros on the track today. AND the Camaro pace car! Strange seeing all the new Mustangs,specially with MUSTANG painted in white letters on the intake below the bumper. Tacky.
Once they get to a road course,it will look like an IMSA race from decades ago. Great for Hendrick-700th pole posotion for Chevy too. |

That's the good news. Here's the bad news: the Camaros are fastest running alone but JUST LIKE LAST YEAR appear to be inferior to the Mustang while racing in a crowd. You'd think Chevy, after last year, would fix the aero disadvantages they have. Drivers said yesterday the air just comes off the Mustang better.

Well if you notice the new Mustang has a strong resemblance to last years Fusion so I figure that it will be very strong this year despite Nascar’s attempt to make the 3 brands competitive! Yes it was a real bad year for the Camaro ZL1 in 2018 only winning 4 races and hopefully won’t continue that way in 2019. NASCAR has to make the Ford folks happy because of all the years that Chevy dominated the races. And to all the negative naysayers out there, we fans know the cars aren’t like the production cars of any of the makes but makes the racing interesting to watch for the Camaro to be on the tracks now instead of a 4 door model that looks like a 2 door!
