trust me, the mount is not as "brontosaurus" as pictured lol. not sure why it's sideways either.

Is probably exaggerated because it’s close up to

SCOSCHE MPDA MagicMount Pro Universal Magnetic Phone/GPS Mount for the Car, Home or Office https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DBAVFI6..._BOEpAbDET43MM

Huge fan of this mount and location. Easy to use in multiple cars. Metal sheet is just taped inside my case. Comes with high quality dash safe 3m adhesive. Easy to keep eyes on the road and see/touch phone if you need to use a feature that’s not part of CarPlay (like view a pic someone sent you or something). I tried to get the pic from approximately where my eyes are. I feel the phone screen and car screen are both 100% unobstructed in real life.

It looks like that AC vent rig would render than vent useless. Hard pass for me.

Ninetres, thanks for sharing with the pics. I like how low profile it is and your placement, and the price is right at $20. The proclip solution at $70 is expensive, but very solid. Using your magnetic solution, will the phone rock or flip out of place with a firm finger press?

No, the magnet is solid AF. Only complaint is my phone wakes up from “sleep” based on enough “Gs” from cornering, acceleration, or braking

The little magnet on the dash also attracts a lightning cable, so it’s always right there ready to grab and plug in. If only my CarPlay worked for a damn!

I was DEFINITELY concerned with that. The one I posted uses what is claimed as a dash-safe 3m adhesive. I don’t drive my car all that much. And it is garage kept. If it was left in the sun often I probably wouldn’t have went with it.

But the lack of a good spot of such an important part of our daily life (phone) was such an oversight on this car, I felt the “reward” outweighed the “risk”. I don’t ever plan on removing it, even when it comes time so sell the car. It’s a MUST have on this model vehicle IMO.
