Bleeding/replacing clutch fluid with a Tick remote bleeder?

I had a Tick remote clutch bleeder installed and I want to change the fluid. What's the proper procedure for doing this?

Here's what I did:

Put the remote bleeder end in a bottle for fluid containment.

Crack the bleeder open.

Push the clutch to the floor.

With clutch held to the floor, close the bleeder.

Pull clutch up. Force clutch up and down a few times to cycle in new fluid from the reservoir.

Am I doing it right? Prior to the remote bleeder, I changed the fluid using the traditional turkey baster method. Is this any better? What about just to bleed the line instead of replacing the fluid?
