Timing Chain Replacement
So guys and gals so far this month is sad and its been a sad couple of months. CEL light on my 2010 LLT has been going on and off every couple of days for about two months now and it reads P0008. Engine performance is diminished and fuel mileage is horrible, I was beaten by a ford focus at a green light to a parking spot and it was embarrassing. I'm going to have to replace the timing chains it seems, I have 107k miles so I believe my warranty is up. Does anyone have an updated parts list for the parts I need to buy to replace the timing chains? I looked it up and there are different types of kits while some have the timing chain tensioner's and guides and others don't with variations here and there. do the sprockets need to be replaced? should i replace the oil pump while I'm down in there? I have access to ondemand5.com so I believe me and my friends can accomplish the fix but I need direction on what exactly needs replacing. I don't plan on ever trading this car in and will drive it until its no longer serviceable. I have several days of vacation coming up later this month and hope to tear it down and build it up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. btw I dont have to lift the engine out right? everything im reading points to no but im just making sure.

Do you think that the timing chain guides would need to be replaced? |
