UPDATE - One Headlight LED DRL is out

Just noticed yesterday that my right headlight LED DRL is not on. Car looks like it's winking....

I tried to find the connection to see if something got loose, but I don't see much access to the headlight assembly.

Any ideas? Otherwise I'll do the dealer thing.

So I took it to the dealer to fix since it was also time for an oil change.

Apparently this doesn't happen often, according to my service guy, and I had to wait 3 days for a replacement headlight to come from a warehouse somewhere back east. No problem for me since I work out of the house and I have the Tahoe as a second car.

It took the tech 30 minutes to swap out, but that headlight cost .... wait for it.......$975!!!!!!

Good thing it is covered under warranty...

Works perfect now, as it should. Just rolled 6,000 miles and no other issues.

DRL LEDs are self-contained within the sealed headlamp assembly. If you're still under warranty, let the dealer take care of it.

Was your turn signal on?
On my Gen5 when turn signal is on it looks like it is winking since the light shuts off at that time on that one side.
Thought it was defective but then found out it was suppose to go out when the turn signal is on.

Gen5DIY has some good pictures around the headlights and eyebrows in the instructions tab at http://www.gen5diy.com/Chevrolet/Cam...brow-Harness8/

This won't probably fix your headlights, but will give you an idea maybe of what you would be getting into in checking if your harnesses are tight.

or a direct link to the pdf instructions.

Had no choice but to take it to the dealer, but I have always had great service and not one issue there with all my cars.

So, yes - the front fascia has to come off to replace the complete headlight assembly.

So, we'll see.......

As some of you know we sale a head light kit and what we found out last week is that this may have been a bad DRL controller, we had one do some thing like this on a costumers cars, they had one one bright in the day time and it went to low at night, the other side went to low in the day time and stayed there.

The way it works is the car drops the V+ to 5V on the DRL in the night mode and its 12V in the day time by seeing this the controller works all 4 DRL lights.

That bad controller in the headlight may be the same thing your headlight had or it was completely bad.

My car arrived from the factory with a headlight out. Took almost a week for my dealership to get a replacement in.
