Curious for those of you who have sold your ZL1 how much did you get?

I was finally able to sell my 18' A10 ZL1 after a few months of trying. I was able to get 55K with a little under 12K on the odometer. For those of you who have moved on what were you able to get for yours and what was the milage? Also please feel free to list good times/experiences you had with the car. At times I felt like I was trying to sell the highest milage 18' ZL1 in the country. A huge salute to all of you out there who daily yours and drive a ton of miles!

In one year of ownership I was able to enjoy 10 track days, 3 autoX's and 1 night at the dragstrip. As an intermediate level driver I was able to mange 1:40's at Laguna while lifting for sound, 1:57's at Buttonllow on stock tires and 11.4 at Famoso dragstrip on my very first pass ever in any car! I do not regret my experiences with the car at all. I feel like I did pretty well depreciation wise, I paid 65K and car had every option except the sunroof.

For those of you who will say I "destroyed" the car boohoo cry me a river. I took great care of that car and made sure to stay on top of all the additional maintenance. I simply drove it the way it was meant to be driven!

OMG, how could you abuse your car like that?
I intend to keep my ZL1 1LE wrapped up in bubble wrap in my garage for its entire life and maybe just start the engine when friends come over... That's what this car was made for... Geez...

I have mine mounted on the garage wall like a trophy, just to impress my friends.

Lol ain’t that the truth, that’s what you hope for but 3 months later and 4500 miles that plan just isn’t looking feasible.

I think deep down I must hate myself because I've opted to go back to a project car and away from a factory warranty and a car I was very satisfied with in stock form, which was the goal of buying the car to begin with. It was a matter of feeling like I didn't need such a big car, I didn't need 20 inch wheels, I didn't need a backseat and if the car didn't weigh 3900 lbs I wouldn't need 650 HP either. Overall the car was too heavy and way too nice for someone who likes to drive as much as I do. While I enjoy all the creature comforts they aren't a priority for me. I couldn't get over feeling bad about putting so many miles on an expensive new car.

My dream car would be close to 2500 lbs and about 500 WHP. So despite California telling me it's not allowed I'm opting to do an LS3 swap into a much lighter car.

I'm very happy to go back to buying tires, rotors and pads that are like 1/4 of the price. So I guess the short answer is I'm poor...

Well, we didn't sell ours, but we just bought one. Paid $58k at a dealer for an '18 A10 with 2700 miles. Every option except sunroof.

Interesting that we're going opposite directions. We made the jump to the ZL1 to have all the modern luxuries with ludicrous speed and outstanding track capability, and still have a factory warranty. Ours will only get tracked a few times a year, as we have a dedicated track car (Miata) that gets the hard core use. Consumables are a lot cheaper...

Poor I can understand.
Lighter, no backseat, etc, I can understand.
But selling a car at a loss because you drive it too much? That doesn't make sense.

2500lbs & 500WHP won't be a fun car on the street. Are you planning to have a beater commuter car and then the dream car is only for track use?

Yeah, it's a 4th car for me. Wife has a jetta wagon, I switch off between a Tacoma and a supercharged S2000 I recently picked up. So far the old Honda has been holding up great to hard street driving but I'm pretty sure I'd blow the engine quickly if I started to track it. Only doing autoX in that car for now.

Fortunately my "commute" consists of primarily empty picture perfect canyon roads that most people dream about driving. When I bought the ZL1 it was with the thought that I might have to start doing more freeway driving but that didn't end up happening.

I started a small car dealership recently with a friend who's been in the car business a long time. So really I have a whole lot full of used cars I can drive if I need to. The dealer plate is the only thing that's given me the balls to go ahead with an LS swap on a post 75' car in CA.

I don't necessarily agree that 500 hp and a light car will automatically make it a horrible street car. It will a have a very livable single disc clutch. I think it all comes down to not gearing the car too short when it comes to lightweight and a lot of power. It will have a new magnum XL trans with 2.66 gearing and 3.73 rear end. It should be very mellow on the freeway in 6th gear if I ever needed to do a long drive. But plan is to enjoy it on the street for a few years then turn it into a dedicated track car.

Put $50k into a Factory five mark 4 and you’ll have plenty of fun.

Yes, although the car has to be 1995 or older.

Unfortunately it's a 2016. Plus I don't want to be limited to 430 hp and I hear the process is a real pain in the ass.
