Peeling steering wheel

Has anyone else’s steering wheel peeled this badly? What would be the direct cause of this? And is there anything I can do?

Mine is starting to a little. You can buy a new nameplate piece for $30ish or so.

More than likely a reaction to a cleaning agent. I only use water to clean that area as I have seen this issue on the forum in the past due to cleaning products.

Yes, I have the same problem. I was going to ask if someone else had the same problem. I'm going to just take that piece off an wrap it in carbon fiber. I'll cut out the SS.

It's not peeling, but leather is cracking after 8500 miles.
Dealer replaced it under warranty.

Is it me or is the leather in these cars kinda cheap or sensitive?
