Deposit return?
Ordered a car (status 1100 for over a month) and purchased the exact car last night at another dealer? Can I get my deposit back?

Lol I don't wanna judge but dont you think you should have found that out before you bought this other one?
No point in asking us either, go there and ask for the deposit back and take it from there.

I would have checked other places, the dealer you have your deposit at, they might give you a hard time.

I got my deposit back when I purchased at another dealer. Took only a few minutes.

What does your receipt/purchase agreement say for the dealer with whom you placed a deposit?

As long as it was a non-refundable deposit (I never give a deposit unless it's 100% refundable and then I put it on a credit card and if I run into a problem dispute the charges).

You should of went to the original dealer and had them get the other, thats what I did. I changed my mind, decided to add the RS package and a sunroof, found one at another dealer online. The next day I went back to my dealer and asked them to get that one and cancel my order so I wouldnt lose my deposit. Plus I thought it would be wrong to back out with giving them a chance to make the dea.

My dealer told me " No you can not get your deposit back" @ Chuck Taylor Chevy in Desoto, TX.

How can he fall on financial hardship and he just brought his Camaro? Also, did anyone sign a no refund sheet when they gave there deposit (i didnt)? I didnt even get a order sheet. The only thing I got was a receipt. I'm thinking about cancelling minds also but I don't want to lose 1000 bucks.

Unless you SIGNED something that said the deposit is nonrefundable, then you can get your money back. Just because the salesman said it was nonrefundable doesnt mean it is. It is just a scare tactic. Legally, they cant take your money and not give you something in return. Even if you signed something saying nonrefundable, I think you could still have a case in getting it back, but if you didnt sign something, the money is yours - go get it. When I put down my $500 "nonrefundable" deposit, all I signed was a very unofficial looking purchase agreement with the words "$500 deposit" written next to my name by the salesman. Nothing about "nonrefundable".
