2000. It was a beast in its day, but these days liter bikes have just as much or more power, and weigh 100lbs less.

Take a look at the Yamaha TW200 for the hitch carrier. Its not that fast but very rider friendly and will go anywhere. They are like a tank with those big balloon tires.
This guy. I like this guy.

I've got a gen1 fz1 with almost 50k miles and a tw200 to potter around the woods/fields and be a pit bike. Kind of big to lug in/out of the trailer, but nice having something I can run to town with..

Fz1 is stupid fast. Nothing like a modern super sport, but up to 120 or so, not much on 4 wheels has a prayer. Been across the country on it, comfy as can be (w/aftermarket saddle and highway pegs). Only real complaint I have with it is bad buffeting from vehicles ahead. Can't bring myself to sell it (worth so little) since nothing else seems enough better to be worth the trouble.

Would love to add a vstrom to the stable - brother had one and it seemed the most comfortable bike I've ever sat on.

The Hayabusa, ZX-12/14 are hyper cruisers! Fast as hell and still comfortable.

The ZX-10/GSXR-1000 are sportbikes. Fast as hell and uncomfortable after 200 miles.
