Is he holding the traction control button down for 5-7 seconds? If you turn stability so off (one click) or put it in competitive mode (2clicks) it won't let them spin...

Found a chart... This is for a M6 car 13 or newer so the steering response and launch control doesn't apply to his car but the traction control settings are the same.Name: image.jpg

With just the traction control off it should be able to spin them. If he's unfamiliar with how the car will react he might want to leave stabilitrac on, it won't make any difference until it gets bent out of shape.

Interesting, I had no idea that our vehicle came with launch control. Does anyone have experience with this driving the LS3? How does it work exactly?

In addition to the other recommendations, put the shifter in M, and don't use the paddle shifters. This will allow the trans to start n 1st, instead of 2nd (really deep 1st gear). Smoke from the rear tires will follow!

What is the difference between competitive mode and Everything off? Same icons for both, and i don't feel any difference driving it.

I've never used it but to my understanding you put it in competitive mode push the clutch in floor it and it will keep the revs around 4K then drop the clutch... From what I've resd you can get more constant launches without it... Also heard of people breaking things with it

The Launch Control option is pretty cool. I've tried it a couple of times now. Send me a pm for the vid.

Doesn't sound right...
Yesterday afternoon I turned off TC and SC (held button down for 8+ sec.) and stomped on it. Lit 'em up with no problem!
