CEL after hard acceleration?
Coming back from the mountains today, about 3 hrs in to the drive, I was doing about 70 when I punched it up to about 80 to go around a car. The CEL blinked for less than 5 secs then went off. Reason for concern?

Misfires.
I did it on the 5th gen with lfx I owned. I was on my way to work numerous days and when it was time to "get it" I punches and one time the stability actually light camenough on as well. First thing I tried was higher octane gas. It could be bad gas if you are running 87. So I went up to 89. That cured it for me. It happened one more time but I did the intake valve cleaner treatment on a car with over 50k, and till I traded it in. Never had it again. When I did have the issue I had it blink and go off. One time it finally stayed on. I was a misfire in 2 and 6, I replaced both plugs but eventually still had the problem. But whenever the cel blinks, it's multiple misfires. I'd work on checking the gas to be the prob first.

Good to know. That makes sense. I had to stop at a place out in the middle of nowhere out near Gatlinburg...
