I have had people come to me wanting to put deposits down for the Camaro,Camaro convertible the Z06 and ZR1 years before they came out. We would take a refundable deposit and tell them they would get first crack at ordering the car if and when it becomes available. Many people read the forums like Camaro5 and take speculation as fact. Our dealership would not advertise something that is not released officially.
Check that website in a few days the ad will probably be down.
How many people here think there will be a Z/28? Well you know where you heard it first!

With the overall success of the Camaro, I would say GM would be absolutley bonkers to not come out with the Z. Now, what GM decides to do with it will totally decide my interest level in it. Putting money down on a total unknown at this point, I could not bring myself to do. If GM would at least release some general statments about it, that would generate more intense interest.

I remember a dealer I worked at was taking deposits that ranged from 1000-5000 when the concept came out. This isn't that far off.

Don't pay for something that hasn't even been confirmed. At least Camaro preorders were confirmed for production. The Z28 is still a rumor.

see below when ordering begins for 2011 camaro!

To All Chevrolet Dealers:

Please be advised that effective with this week’s Dealer Order Submission Cycle (DOSP), the optional spare wheel and tire (code: N65) for 2010 Camaro LS/LT models is not available due to a material issue; and a full, zero constraint has been issued. The constraint will be in place for the remaining two 2010 Camaro order entry cycles (the cycles that start on Thursday, April 22, 2010, and April 29, 2010).

To ensure dealers do not lose allocation or disrupt ordering priorities, the spare wheel and tire option (code: N65) has been removed from all dealer stock and customer sold orders on hand (Event 1100). For dealers with allocation, these orders will be built and shipped without a spare wheel and tire. This action will ensure that dealers who have allocation and buildable orders available on hand for the next two dealer order submission cycles will have their orders placed into production. We apologize for any issues this constraint cause and ask you to inform any affected customers of the constraint and the resulting price adjustment.

The constraint only impacts orders on hand (Event 1100). Dealer stock and customer sold orders in process (Event 2500 or higher) are not impacted by this action; and if ordered with the option (code N65), will have the spare wheel and tire included in their produced model.

It is expected this new constraint will also have an impact on 2011 Camaro order submission when it starts on Thursday, May 6, 2010. The constraint will be a partial constraint allocated on a yet to be determined formula for 2011 model year order submission. It is recommended dealers reduce the number or avoid ordering the spare wheel and tire option (code: N65) on 2011 Camaro LS/LT models.

As a reminder, the standard condition for all Camaro models is an inflator kit. The spare wheel and jack are available as replacement parts through GM SPO; and the spare tire is available through local tire wholesaler for those customers who desire the spare wheel and tire on Camaro LS/LT models (Camaro SS does not have a spare wheel and tire available).

Finally, if a customer experiences a warranty issue with their Camaro, roadside assistance is available as part of the Camaro’s coverage program at no additional charge.

Sincerely,

Camaro Marketing Team

does not mention Z28 sorry!
