USB Ports glitch

Hi all,
Since I got my camaro 2 months ago, I’m experiencing a minor glitch in my infotainment system. My USB Ports stop working sometimes, and they only start working again after I detach the negative cable from my battery. I allready had to do this 3 times and last time it worked fine for a month until this week.
Do any of you know of a permanent fix? And does it hurt the battery to unplug it so often?

I'm not sure what could cause that, but the next time it happens go to the dealer and let them see it's not working. Maybe it's as simple as replacing the USB hub where you're connected to. I've heard some of the USB hubs have been going bad. Hopefully it's nothing with the head unit.

OMG! This was a problem on Gen5 and it's still hanging around?

Pathetic.

No damage, as long as the connect/disconnect occurs with car turned off in all respects (no acc mode etc....)

sometimes mine works, sometimes they don't as well. What I've found helps is disabling blutooth, that has made the issue happen less (carplay). I've never had the usb stop charging the phone, but sometimes it just doesn't want to connect to carplay, a lot of times this happens if I remote start and plug the phone in.
