ZL1 at the Bahrain GP track

Here goes my first ever thread, so basically i live in Kuwait and the nearest track to us is the one in Bahrain "ours is still under construction" so the guys at BIC "Bahrain International Circuit" organize open track days from time to time, and since i had good seating time in my BRZ over there, i decided to head over in the ZL1, i was hesitant since its a huge step-up. but nonetheless me and my buddies went. it was held on November the 24th. So what are my first impressions about the car? well, Holy **** this is something else, from the braking power, from the actual acceleration, from the PDR, there is just a lot to go on with. I will try to keep this simple, the temperature there was around 23C ~ 74F, and it had rained in the morning, by 4pm we entered the track, had a couple of warm-up laps to get to feel the car, and boom, a xbow looses it and smashes in the barrier at one of the corners, we hit the pit lane and wait a good hour till things got sorted, track got cleared and we were at it again. Anyways, after warming her up i hit that pedal and boy was i in for something amazing. I did 2 hot laps and 1 cool-down the whole day, then noticed that the actual engine oil temp was ok, it went up to 110C~ 230F on the straights, the fact that our 1 dealer we have here in Kuwait doesn't have the recommended oil for track use was a shame, but then again i could get an equivalent oil somewhere else and just get it done at home, nevertheless that didnt stop me from going and trying her out. The fact that the ZL1 kept on taking the beating all night was something i really enjoyed, i could never do that with the BRZ, not to compare them but wow is this a step-up. Some corner action from the day as you can c in the photos. i will try to get the pdr vidz in later, to be honest im just out of words and cant get my thoughts still straight after that track day. BTW, that poor Audi R8 V10 which was upgraded and was running semi-slicks couldnt and did not overtake me once on that day, guy came in the end asking what the ZL1 was all about, i just couldn't believe he didn't know what it was. lol. Anyways, till next time.

I would imagine that a ZL1 would be a rare sight in that area?
