Amp Location In 1LE?
***UPDATE 12/27/21***
My setup: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showt...8#post11113148 ***UPDATE 3/30/21*** To clarify, the information below pertains to 2017 & 2018 model years. 2019 and newer switched to a different CAN bus protocol (GM-LAN). ***UPDATE 1/21/19*** There is no external amplifier in the 1SS 1LE. It has a chip amp integrated into the HMI which is located under the glovebox. You can see the location at 6m24s in this video (although the Camaro in video is not a 1SS 1LE, all 6th gens have HMI mounted in the same location): To grab the signal digitally without amplifying the system chimes, we can use the NAV-TV M650 ($850), PAC AP4-GM61 ($200~$400), and Axxess AX-DSP/AX-DSP-X with AX-DSP-GMLAN09 harness (~$400). FYI radio using the PAC will be mono and not stereo. The AX-DSP will lower the driverside speaker volume when chimes turn on. AFAIK no one has tried the NAV-TV on a non-Bose system. If you have a line out converter you would like to use and don't care about loud chimes, you can try this harness: https://lljcustoms.com/store?olsPage...-amp-t-harness ******************* ORIGINAL POST: I want to hook up a different amp to the stock speakers. I see there is a subth ump harness but we have the MRC module where an amp is supposed to be? Anyone know where it's located? Should look like this: Last edited by WhyUMad1LE; 12-27-2021 at 12:24 PM. |

Apparently it's behind the passenger side rear plastic panel. So if you were sitting in the passenger rear seat it would be on your right.

I looked around the rear passenger seat area for a panel. I didn't see one. Any pictures of a SS 1LE amp? and confirmation where it's located

I don't have a 1LE but I'm fairly certain its in the trunk same as the Bose location. In the "spare tire" well.

And you would be wrong if you assumed this without looking. On the 1LE cars the MRC controller is located in this location. It is located inside of the interior where someone else just pointed out.

Imagine that you're sitting in the rear passenger side seat. The plastic panel where your right elbow is has to be removed to see the amp. I haven't done it yet but it is not an access panel, it's the interior panel that needs to be removed. Probably some pop rivets and a screw or two. You may want to call Crutchfield, they may have some info on disassembly of the interior.

If you pop off the airbag tag in the rear panels, there's a couple screws behind it after that the panels pull off. It's easier if you remove the rear seats first but can be done with them in. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=447779 |

look under your tire cover and lift up that foam holder for the air pump. I saw something that looked like an amp.
