Looking to buy sound tube (V8)

Hello,

I'm looking to add the sound tube to my camaro v8.It didn't come from factory. Looking to buy the whole thing. Plastic elbow from intake, hose, resonator, with bolts, tubes and clamps.

Ideally from someone who removed it and has all the parts.

Thanks.

I may have what you need. Removed mine and the stock air box when I bought the car two years ago. Let me check later this afternoon and I will get back to you. Thanks.

If Spaceme1117 can't find it, I'll be happy to check my parts boxes, mine was removed soon after I took delivery.

if OP hasn't bought it, I might be interested... can I ask why you removed it? I like the idea of extra intake noise, as long as it's not from speakers.

I don't need more intake noise than I already hear from a cammed, supercharged, Roto-Fabbed engine with long tube headers, heh. DM me if you'd like this part.

Interesting. Some of the stuff I've read suggests that it includes more "air noise" that makes the exhaust feel less loud due to the extra non engine related dB introduced into the cabin. Can you chime in on that? My car has a Corsa variable with full X pipe (stock intake) so it's already quite loud but I feel like more noise that wouldn't piss off the neighbors or attract cops would always be nice, like intake noise. Anything to increase the hysteria and the visceral feel of driving the car wide open throttle, I feel it's a little bit less fun to rev out than my last baby (2009 Civic Si). I even keep the rear backseat folded down to let in maximum exhaust noise (great idea, if you ever feel like giving yourself a headache, lets in some more noise that doesn't get locals calling in your license plates) If you think it would be a net loss of enjoyment then I suppose I'd be glad it came without one so I didn't have to delete it.

I also have not a clue how the install might work. I believe the LT1 has the firewall hole and also the intake hole. I was unable to find much of anything about it online.

I think this is a matter of taste, I am simply not a big intake noise fan; unlike the raw engine and exhaust sound, the whoosh doesn't excite me, and I very much dislike supercharger whine, to me a Hellcat supercharger sounds like a worn out ball bearing

Folding down the back seat is a great idea indeed if one wants to make the sound more pronounced. The cabin of the coupe is fairly well insulated from the factory.

Not sure how your neighbors would react to something even louder than a Corsa, heh, although it's the long tube headers that made my car much more dramatic, not really the intake or the supercharger.

I do want long tubes after warranty is done, but I also like to go on night drives. With the Variable, I can close the valves and it gets quiet enough that I haven't heard any complaints yet. If I had long tubes, it would probably still be too loud. Although I was pretty surprised at how loud a speed X pipe (delete pipe) and Corsa exhaust was. From the outside, it's really loud.

Did you hear any difference with and without the sound tube?

Sorry brother, I didn't take notes and it's been 5 years since the sound tube has been off, I don't remember

Sound tube makes a huge difference. Specially if you remove the foam inside. Even with NPP open, you hear more the engine induction.
That being said, I put the foam back in and put some more. It gives it a nice add on to the engine natural sound and exhaust sound.

I took the car for some warranty work and removed the Sound tube for that, all back to OEM now.
I don't miss it that much, I daily drive and in the morning I like to have the exhaust in stealth and just drive.

Fair enough. I can just take it off if I don't like it. I need to verify that I have the firewall hole but how much do you want for it?
