For leases, it doesn't make any sense to put money down. It makes more sense to put any money that you would have put down and just put that down payment money in a separate account and just pull from it and slap it on your monthly payment.

For leases, the factors that affect your monthly payments are:

money factor
residual value %
capatilized cost (agreed cost of the car)
monthly term of lease (36 mos, 39, mos)

You have control of the money factor, capitalized cost of the car and monthly term.

I would imagine that figure certainly includes some money down, or employee pricing.

Assuming a $45k price, 67% residual (worth $30k at the end), $0 down, 36 month, .00125 money factor, I'm coming out around $550. The residual is based on the MSRP, so I'm not calculating it perfectly, but it accounts for the variability of the percentage itself, and gives us a reasonable ball park figure.

67% is way too high I think. The competition models are lower than 60% last I checked.

I don't understand it but I want to lease this time around. Can you break this down please? If my total price of my car is 44k
