Shaking on heavy braking

Just got new rims and tires. Regular size 1LE rims and tires. 305's in the rear. Taking it back to the tire shop Saturday. What could cause a bit of a shake in the vehicle when I brake kinda hard? Something is not balanced because I get a vibration on the HWY. Maybe it's exaggerated because something's not balanced...

Wheels could have incorrect center bore, damaged center bore, installed improperly, over tightened or a combo of the above. Shaking under braking may indicated tone or more rotors is damaged (warped).

Other possibilities would be a defective wheel or tire.

Do the new wheels have the same center bore? Most after market wheels do not.

I was a bit tired when I posted that I would suspect the wheel centering first. The shake when braking may indicate the rotors have been damaged.

I don't feel it in the front end like the steering wheel. They are MRR rims. I don't know if they have any trouble with the rims or not...

I had the same thing happen when I bought my 99 TA it had some replica C5 wheels on it, they were centered with the lug nuts, alway vibrated, I shit canned those and bought Forgestars, they came with plastic centering rings, which I quickly upgraded to Aluminum, vibrations are now gone.

Rear rotor problems can make the car shake without feeling it in the steering.

Yes but the odds of it happening at the same time are about zero. For whatever reason, it hasn't done it hardly the last week. The first time it happened it freaked me out. I'll have to look at the rims. I'll have to look at the inside of all the rims to see if I see any wear from rubbing the hubs.

Try the people that mounted the tires used a damned air impact and over torqued the lug nuts and warped something like rim / rotor.

Never deal with folks that don't use a accurate torque wrench on lug nuts and torque properly by hand.

you would be surprised at how many shops dont have or dont know how to use a torque wrench.

Over torqued rims will warp the rotors!
