Do 2014 V6 Automatic Camaro’s have AFM?

I was wondering if 2014 V6 automatic Camaro’s have AFM systems and if I should disable it? Also what type of AFM Disabler should I get?

According to Google, yes. I had mine disabled with my first tune and then later replaced when I did my cam.

Does the afm system tend to mess with the vehicle in the long run if not disabled?

Interesting, I was under the impression the v6 cars never had afm. I remember that being one of gringos many reasons why he loved his v6.

I never really noticed it switching from v6 to v4 to be honest. Until now and I’m trying to figure out if there’s a disabler for the 2014 Camaro model.

According to GM Authority the LGX has AFM, the LFX did not.

Interesting, I’ll have to check if it’s a LGX or LFX. Are those the only 2 motors the C6 Camaro has?

The v6's NEVER had AFM, only the v8's. It was their way to get around the "gas guzzler tax" when they first came out. I looked into that when I bought my SS.

The 3.6L Camaro had the LLT version in 2010-2011 and the LFX in 2012-2015. It never had the LGX. The LLT/LFX/LGX were used in many GM cars from Chevrolet, Buick, & GM. The LGX debuted in 2016 so never in a 5th gen Camaro.

Thanks. I meant to type GMC as the 3.6 is rather ubiquitous in GM cars and SUV’s. The question piqued my curiosity about AFM so I started reading articles in GM Authority, Wikipedia, and Car & Driver. I personally hate AFM and have it tuned out on my L99 and in the next 12-18 months it’s all getting ripped out when I do a cam and full valve train.

Yea it does suck the big one!! I have mine tuned out at 19k when we did the header install and tune. Before that I ran in manual mode most of the time so I didn't have to listen to it with my aftermarket exhaust. It really made it noticeable.
