I was asking about the Wi-Fi settings that connects your car to a Wi-Fi network. I'm not asking about the hot spot settings. They are two different setting selections.

When I get a chance I'll do a reset by disconnecting the battery.

I tried the battery reset and also the reset procedure that was posted and neither worked. In fact the reset procedure did nothing. I then called OnStar and they couldn’t solve it either. I guess it’s off to the dealership.

Interesting that OnStar couldn't resolve it either.

I went through the service manual for my 2018 and wifi is discussed exclusively in the context of OnStar, both in terms of hardware and software, and my car has the same dual wifi functionality (connect to external wifi network + hotspot). Thus I would've guessed your OnStar subscription expired and they eagerly turned off your entire wifi functionality, but if you already called them, it may be something else.

I decided to check my wifi the other evening after I got home from work. Once I got into the garage, it took a minute for my home wifi to come up (it showed nearby networks before my own). When I tried to connect, it failed the first time, but then connected. I checked for updates just to make sure it was working (no updates available).

Sorry for the delayed response. I finally fixed it. I had performed my searches for this issue on the web. Nothing came up. So i took my car to the dealership and after having the car all day they called me to tell me that they can't find anything wrong. Said they called on-star and they were telling them that I need a data subscription for it to work. I told them you don't and that it used to work. Asked if they could keep the car another day. I said sure.

The next day I searched the web again. This time I widened my search by not including Camaro. One hit came up in a Traverse forum and they had the solution. It turns out there is a setting in the mobile app for wi-fi hotspot. If you disable it, which mine was, it also disables the wi-fi network. No where is this documented. I enabled it and 15 minutes later I get a call from the shop saying it is working.

So a setting in your My Chevy App caused the setting in your infotainment unit to not be enabled... Nice find... Glad you figured it out.

Luckily someone in a Traverse had the same issue and reported it and the solution. It was the only reference to the problem I found.
