Shift Denied

So today I was goofing around in manual mode and 2 different times at the top of 5th, I hit the paddle to go to 6th and I get a shift denied.

Any ideas why?

You weren't at a point where the car would function well in that gear.

Just a guess here but if you're in sport mode at red line in 5th it assumes that you're not looking for top end and wanting to stay reved up. I'd hate to put money on that guess but if it's doing that by design I'm just trying to justify it somehow.

Was in manual mode, but I mean you gotta be in sport to be in manual. So I dunno.

I don’t think it’ll let you pull 6th while on a top speed run so if you were redlined in 5th and tried to shift to 6th it shuts you down, odds are the engine wouldn’t have enough power to keep pulling in 6th anyway.

Maybe because I was at redline. But I've went to 6th at a little over 5000 rpms and pulled on past the speed I was at on several occasions. Imma ask my tuner for sure about it, just wanted go throw it on here to see if anyone else has ran into it.

I think redline is the key to it. I remember reading something about it a little while back on here. 3.91’s probably get you a little more in double Od than the stock gears.

Just pull in 1 2 3 4 5 and leave 6th for your crushing gear. I’ve never made a pull in 6th. It’s not a pulling gear.
